LinkedIn is a platform that focuses on connecting professionals from around the world. With over 740 million members worldwide, LinkedIn offers a wealth of opportunities to make professional contacts, gain insights into different industries and keep up to date with current trends and developments.

In this blog post, we will discuss the most important LinkedIn updates and features.

Post planning

One feature that LinkedIn has recently introduced is the ability to schedule posts in advance. Many companies and users have long requested this feature as it gives them more flexibility in creating content and managing their social media presence. Users will now see a schedule icon next to the "Post" button. With this feature, users can now schedule their posts for a specific date and time.

You can also check and change the planned posts at any time during the joining process.

Generated video subtitles

Since November last year, LinkedIn has been offering the "Auto Captions" function, which automatically generates subtitles for posted videos. However, this feature will only be available in English for the time being, but it is planned that other languages will follow soon. However, it is not yet clear when this will happen.

Users can edit the captions generated by the AI before uploading them. The auto captions can be created both on the desktop and in the mobile app. However, they can only be edited once and only in the desktop version directly on the LinkedIn website.

Audio Events

The new "Audio Events" feature can be compared to "live videos" on other platforms such as Instagram or TikTok. This function is intended to offer a flexible and simple way to get in touch with the community. As with other platforms, event participants can react with emojis. In addition, they can raise their hand if they want to say something and browse LinkedIn on the side, for example to follow other listeners.

Improving the analyses

The new analysis dashboard not only shows follower development, but also provides information about the performance of recent posts and engagement rates of the competition. This allows you to compare your own performance with the competition, learn about industry trends and find out more about your own followers and their interests.

This feature is comparable to Facebook's competitor tracking and offers companies decisive advantages.

Improved job search options

One of the most important functions that LinkedIn offers is job search support. Users are always looking for suitable jobs on the platform. This is exactly where LinkedIn is planning to improve in order to provide searchers with the best possible support and suggest more suitable jobs that match their values and interests.

Soon LinkedIn wants to introduce "personalized job collections" to help users discover the best opportunities available. The following option is currently being tested and will soon be available to users worldwide.

Automatic job postings

Artificial intelligence is a big topic in the industry right now. LinkedIn is also trying to improve its features with the help of AI tools. From now on, job advertisements can not only be written automatically, but also posted. The text provided can be edited afterwards. As long as the feature remains active, LinkedIn will share a job every day until all job advertisements have been shared.

This function is currently only available for companies with fewer than 1000 employees.

Conclusion

Some of these updates have already been introduced by LinkedIn, others are still in the test phase. Regardless of this, LinkedIn is still the app that is best suited for users who want to further their education or change their career.
